Lt. Stuart (Pete) Weaver joined the ranks in 1971.
He became Lieutenant in the spring of 1995.
Although he has had many mounts through the years,
the most memorable is his current mount,
a 28 year-old mixed breed gelding named Mr. Mooch,
who has been a police horse for almost 20 years,
participating in all types of events, from parades to
crowd control to funerals to search & rescue.
Pete & Mr. Mooch placed 5th in 2002 and 4th in 2003
in the police horse competition in Kingston, Ontario, Canada
and 7th in 2004 in NYS Police and Fire Games in Saratoga .
