Oneida County Sheriffs Mounted Unit would like to invite you to the 2009 Third Annual Trail Trial & Versatility Challenge Sunday, August 23,2009 Trail Trial to be held at: Caernarvon Horse Park, Taylor Rd., Barneveld, NY All proceeds going to the Oneida County Sheriffs Mounted Unit The trail trial is an untimed, marked trail ride where riders will negotiate 10 judged obstacles. Best total score will win for that division.You may go out in a group of 4 or less (mixed divisions is fine). The versatility challenge will consist of three different classes: 1) The trail trial itself, 2) a trail class held inside the main ring, and 3) an equitation class (w/t/c) to show that you and your horse also have whatit takes in the ring (proper show apparel not required). Scores will be added together from all 3 classes and the best total score will win for that division.Champion and Reserve Champion will be placed for all divisions. The Divisions: Green Horn - For the novice horse and/or riderTrail Boss - For the experienced horse and rider Junior Rider - For riders 16 and under Sign ups start at 8am. Riders may go out on the trail at 8:30. No riders allowed out after 12 noon.Last rider must return by 2pm to qualify for ribbons.The Ring Trail course will be open from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm.It is each rider's responsibility to find a time to complete their Trail Class Equitation Classes will be held at:Green Horn: 1:30 pm Trail Boss: 1:45 pm Junior Rider: 2:00 pmRibbons and awards will be presented at 2:45 pm (you must be present to receive awards) *Registries for the trail trial are $25.00 per person (nonrefundable) $30 per person the day of the event. Adding the versatility challenge is $15.00 per rider. There is a 130 person limit: Register early to ensure your reservation. *A 2008 or 2009 negative Coggins and Rabies certificate are required for ALL horses. *All Riders are required to wear boots and protective headgear while mounted *Junior division riders must ride with an adult
